STUDENTS WHO HAVE A SCHOLARSHIP LOWER THAN 100%
Our students who have a scholarship rate lower than 100% at our University are enrolled in the SGS550 Academic Skills course in the first semester of their enrollment at our University. You are not expected to support any academic task within the scope of the relevant course.
100% SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS
You have registered for the SGS550 Academic Skills course, which all students studying at our university with a 100% scholarship must take every semester.
*Our students with a 100% scholarship who registered before the 2021-2022 Fall semester will not be enrolled in the SGS550 Academic Skills course, but they are required to provide support within the scope of the tasks listed below.
A study has been conducted on the scope of the work that can be given to you in order to ensure your academic development within the scope of the course. Below you can find the list of these studies, which can be 10 hours a week.
Our students who have not yet been assigned will be informed later by the unit to which they will be assigned. Our students who currently have a position will continue to provide support in this context.
SGS550 ACADEMIC SKILLS COURSE
GENERAL RULES FOR TASKING OF STUDENTS WITH 100% TUITION FEE REDUCTION
The objective of the course SGS550 Academic Skills is defined as “to gain the basic skills necessary for academic life to the graduate students.” The operation of the activities that are required for this course are handled by the SGS secretariat and the secretariat of the faculties. In addition to these activities, students with 100% tuition fee reduction are expected to carry out some tasks that will help them gain certain academic skills. At the beginning of each semester students are informed about the tasks they are expected to perform. These tasks are determined by the administration of the programs and may include one or more of the items in the following list. Each student may be given tasks up to 10 hours per week. No personal task can be given to students as part of the requirements of this course.
Possible Tasks:
1. “Teaching Assistant” duties in undergraduate courses.
2. Assisting in the coordination of course supervisors in the modules of the core program courses.
3. Assisting in the problem-solving and/or practice sessions of the courses.
4. Assisting in experiments in laboratories.
5. Assisting the technical experts in laboratories.
6. Mentoring undergraduate students.
7. Assisting students in using of various package programs.
8. Acting as an exam proctor.
9. Assisting in varies activities of courses such as communication-organization-announcement-poster preparation, etc.
10. Assisting students in project-based classes and attending their presentations. Assisting in the organization with industry partners for presentations.
11. Assisting in the preparation of lecture notes.

1. Assisting in organizing events, communication, keeping social media accounts active, etc. Taking active part in activities to promote the university.
1. Provided that a permission is granted by the SGS Administration and the above mentioned principles are obeyed, different tasks that are not mentioned above may be given to students.
