Digital Transformation of Construction Sector
Abstract: The construction industry is one of the least productive sectors in the world. Digital transformation is a necessity to overcome the inefficiencies of construction projects. Nowadays, Building Information Modelling (BIM) is widely used around the world. Recent studies show that BIM implementation in construction projects significantly reduces costs and project time. The presentation will describe BIM and its applications, demonstrating the huge benefits of interdisciplinary coordination. Common mistakes in BIM will also be discussed. Furthermore, the seminar will delve into parametric/algorithmic design and its applications, BIM programming, and the Generative Design Concept. Examples from the speaker’s past experiences will be shown, and future research and development will be discussed.
