Sports psychology is a branch of science that examines how participation in sports, exercise and physical activities affects a person’s psychological and mental factors. This field provides services in areas such as optimizing the performance and well-being of athletes using psychological data and techniques, increasing sports participation and health behaviors, analyzing and transferring optimum mental processes for mental and physical development to life.
Application Areas
Participants in the Sports and Health Psychology Master’s program learn the psychological techniques necessary to improve the health status and sports performance of their clients. The program’s theory and internship opportunities make participants competent in many areas such as increasing athlete performance, improving exercise behavior, developing healthy and well-being, and coping with obesity.
